About these terms

These terms apply to BuildMyRate at buildmyrate.com, run by DO Media ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. The site is meant for U.S. adults (18 or older).

What the site is

BuildMyRate is a free educational calculator. It estimates typical car insurance prices from public averages and a statistical model, and explains coverage in plain language. We are not an insurance company, agency or broker. We do not sell insurance, give quotes, bind coverage, or give insurance, legal or financial advice about your situation. Estimates are not offers.

How we get paid

The site is free to you. We earn referral fees from our partner, and the amount may depend on what you do on the partner's site. See How we make money.

Partner sites

When you choose to request real quotes, you leave BuildMyRate for SaveCubAuto at savecubauto.com, run by a separate company. Partner sites have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their forms, or what they or the companies they work with do with your information.

No guarantees

We work to keep state rules and estimates accurate, but laws change and every insurer prices differently. We do not guarantee that an estimate matches any quote, that you will get a quote or qualify for coverage or a discount, or that you will pay less than you do now. Confirm requirements with your state and your insurer before you buy.

Acceptable use

Use the site for your own insurance research. Do not use bots or scripts to click through the site, create fake clicks or referrals, tamper with our links or referral IDs, try to get around the site's security, or copy the site or its data at scale. We may block traffic that looks automated or abusive.

Intellectual property

The BuildMyRate name and logo, and this site's text, data compilation and design, belong to us or our licensors. You may link to any page and quote short passages with credit.

Disclaimers and limits

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything a partner, insurer or agent does or fails to do. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
